Stipe Miocic T Shirt – Cleveland Pride
I lived in Cleveland for about a year at the Reserve Square downtown. I fondly recall sitting in the bar downstairs, watching people try their luck at the lobster claw machine. Legend has it, if you catch a lobster using the mechanical claw, the kitchen will cook it for your free. Legend only as I don’t believe anyone has been successful yet. Cleveland was one of the most enjoyable and memorable places I’ve lived. It’s character, it’s culture, it’s bitter cold lake-effect winters. The great lakes, the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, and not to mention the incredible sports culture. Little needs to be said about the Indians, the Browns, and the Cavaliers except that it leaves MMA fairly under represented.
This under representation came to and end when Stipe Miocic knocked out Fabricio Werdum in the first round to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Although I’m not born and raised Cleveland, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride knowing that Cleveland is now on the MMA map.
So far, Stipe Miocic has defended his belt once against the legendary Alistair Overeem. But Stipe’s made his stamp on the UFC Heavyweight division with wins over Mark Hunt, Andre Arlovski, Roy Nelson, and of course Fabricio Werdum. The only person to have beat him was Junior Dos Santos in what seemed to be a fight where Stipe ran out of gas in the second round.
Stipe is up to defend his title for the second time against Junior at UFC 211 in May. Both men have a background in boxing and knock out power in their hands. I’m really looking forward to this one. Not only because of the excitement but because there’s a tiny bit of Cleveland inside me and Stipe represents. I’m going to be wearing my Stipe t shirt while watching the fights. Here’s your chance to get behind the UFC Heavyweight Champ and an awesome city too.
