Fight of the Night
When fight fans see this match-up, they know it’s going to be a violent and bloody war. Robbie Lawler and Matt Brown are top level welterweights that can not only dish it out, but they can take a good punch as well. This is one of those fights that requires both fighters to take a deep breath, dig deep, and find the fire and the drive to not give up. This is exactly the type of fight that gives this blog it’s meaning. Fight fans are able to draw inspiration from moving performances in the cage like this.
Matt Brown is an inspirational role model and one of my personal favourite fighters. A brief summary of his story and the reason why he has his nick name “The Immortal” is on this blog here. Given a rocky start to his UFC career, he finally found his footing in 2012. Since then, he has been on a killing spree, climbing to the top of the UFC Welterweight division.
He grounded out a victory against UFC rising star Stephen Thompson. He then knocked out Mike Swick, Jordan Mein, Mike Pyle, and Erick Silva to become one of the top Welterweight contenders for Johny Hendrick‘s belt. But he wasn’t alone in the top echelon. There were many other sharks swarming for the belt and waiting for their turn. Carlos Condit, Rory Macdonald, Robbie Lawler…
Robbie Lawler is a veteran to the sport and has already fought some of the toughest fighters in MMA. He is known for his heavy hands and his willingness to engage, and his love for a good fight. Thankfully, Matt Brown can take a good punch, deliver knockout power of his own, and also, loves a good fight.
When the cage door closes, fight fans expect nothing but fireworks. Delay no further, please enjoy, Robbie Lawler vs Matt Brown.
